Congratulations to Ellie-Mai Green in Year 4 Buttercups who won the West Midlands Fire Service Christmas Card competition just before we broke up for the Christmas holidays !
Across Wolverhampton, pupils in Years 4 and 5 were asked to design a Christmas card that had a strong safety theme and included one of the key fire safety messages. Despite lots of fantastic entries, Ellie-Mai's design was chosen as a winner because it was bright, humorous and very safety conscious showing Ellie-Mai had listened very carefully to advice shared by fire officers during their visit to Year 4 back in September as part of our PSHE curriculum.
Simon Debenham, Education Support Officer for West Midlands Fire Service, came to present Ellie-Mai with a lovely certificate, a goody bag and a pack of Christmas cards showing her very own design for her to share with her friends and families.
Year 4 Buttercups will also share in Ellie-Mai's success as part of the prize will be for her

to take the rest of her class to our local fire station for a special visit very soon!
You can see Ellie-Mai's fantastic design, along with lots of other entries here at the West Midlands Fire Service web page. https://www.wmfs.net/be-a-safety-star-this-christmas-2025/
