This week, Year 6 took their learning to a whole new level as they explored the life of Anne Frank through virtual reality. Using VR headsets, pupils were able to step inside  the Secret Annexe, gaining a powerful and immersive understanding of Anne’s world during World War II. Woodpeckers had a debate about which biscuit should be banned from biscuit Friday? There were lots of fors for banning rich teas, lots of against banning for bourbons but the class were divided when it came to custard creams.  Woodpeckers also looked at what laws they would implement if they were Prime Minister! This week, a group of Year 5 pupils visited Wolverhampton Girls High School to take part in an exciting maths challenge, where they worked in pairs to solve a series of challenging puzzles. Each activity earned them a new clue, helping them inch closer to discovering the secret four-digit code needed to unlock the final mystery. In Year 2, we’ve been learning about people who inspire others through kindness, courage, and faith. We explored figures like Mother Teresa, who cared for the poor, and Martin Luther King Jr., who worked for equality. We also looked at our role models in the school and at home. These role models teach us how to make the world better by showing love and respect. We reflected on how we can follow their example in our own lives every day.

Year 1 had an exciting visit from the crossing patrol! They learned how to cross the road safely, sang a fun road safety song about stopping, looking and listening, and even role-played with the lollipop lady. A big thank you for helping us stay safe on our journeys!

Both Year 6 classes (Magpies and Robins) enjoyed an unforgettable three-day residential at Whitemoor Lakes, packed with adventure, teamwork and plenty of laughs. From high-energy activities like climbing, archery and canoeing to an evening campfire and team challenges, the children embraced every moment with enthusiasm and resilience. Our Year 1 children explored a rainbow of fruits for their Design Technology topic on fruit kebabs. They loved the sweet strawberries and juicy oranges — but the lemons were a big surprise! “Sour!” was the word of the afternoon. What a zesty way to learn about flavours and healthy eating!

To celebrate Bonfire Night Reception children made chocolate apples. We used the microwave to melt the chocolate and then dipped our apples into the chocolate liquid. We then decorated them with coloured sprinkles. They were delicious!

This week, our curious learners dissected play dough poo to uncover clues about diets. Were they herbivores, omnivores, or carnivores? With tweezers and giggles, they explored pretend poo to find leaves, bones, and more—learning through laughter and hands-on discovery! 🌿🍗🔍

Our Maple and Oak classes had a fantastic time at the zoo as part of their Geography rainforests topic! Despite the 'rainforest' weather, all children enjoyed seeing their favourite animals such as elephants, giraffes and monkeys up close. They even paid a special visit to Mrs Cope's favourite animals, the penguins, who were very much enjoying the wet weather. The children's enthusiasm, independence and resilience throughout the day was outstanding and all staff commented

We have been very busy in our outside area. Nursery have enjoyed using the steppers and have been playing in the mud kitchen. Reception have completed an animal hunt searching for the characters from Brown Bear, Brown Bear and have made pictures with leaves.
