Black Country Museum Came to Visit!
Our school had an inspiring visit from the Black Country Museum today! Pupils explored history through hands-on creativity, learning how to design and build 3D free‑standing structures. The workshop brought the past to life while encouraging teamwork, imagination, and problem‑solving. A fantastic blend of heritage and practical learning!

Moving Toys
Year 1 have been busy designing and making their own moving toys, both in school and at home. Using string, card and creative ideas, children experimented with how movement works. They were proud to share their fantastic creations, showing imagination, teamwork and brilliant problem‑solving throughout the project.

Black Country Living Museum
Year 1 travelled back in time at the Black Country Living Museum, discovering how people once lived. Children explored old houses, workshops, and streets, learning about daily life and traditional building structures. It was an exciting hands-on adventure that brought history to life for everyone to enjoy together.

SPRING VALE TAKEN OVER BY BOOK CHARACTERS FOR WORLD BOOK DAY 2026!
A massive well done to all our staff and pupils who dressed up as their favourite book characters in school today! We have been blown away by everyone's amazing efforts! YEAR 3 MAPLE GO LIVE!
Year 3 took part in a fantastic live lesson with a selection of authors and illustrators including " Going on a Bear Hunt" Author: Michael Rosen, as part of World Book Day! They had great fun listening to extracts from books, and learning how illustrators pick out key information to 'draw' what is going on in the story. This afternoon, pupils have then had a go at doing this themselves!

NOW PRESS PLAY - WATCH OUT FOR EXPLODING VOLCANOES!
I bet you didn't know that our Year 4 pupils have been to Italy this week! That's right - they have travelled back in time to Pompeii and the volcanic eruption of Mighty Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD with the help of NOW PRESS PLAY (our fantastic immersive experience) - no passports required!

Draw a Dinosaur!
To celebrate National Draw a Dinosaur Day, our KS1 children let their imaginations run wild as they designed and created their very own dinosaurs. The children were buzzing with creativity as they sketched everything from leopard‑print dinosaurs to multi‑coloured creatures bursting with personality. SPRING VALE ROCK NUMBER DAY!
A big well done to all our children who have made an amazing effort today to come to school dressed as a number or a Times Table Rockstar as part of our NSPCC Number Day celebrations! Throughout the day, children have been completing a range of maths activities and challenges based around numbers.

YEAR 4 MASTER MUSICIANS!
A huge well done to all our Year 4 pupils for their fantastic performances in the Brass concerts this week and last. All children sang a range of songs, and played their trumpets which they have been learning since September as part of the Wolverhampton Music School Wider Opportunities Programme. Our Year 6 Maths detectives!

Today, Mrs Cope shared her TOP TEN assembly with KS2 and it was all about birds! CHRISTMAS SAFETY STAR WINNER!
Congratulations to Ellie-Mai Green in Year 4 Buttercups who won the West Midlands Fire Service Christmas Card competition just before we broke up for the Christmas holidays ! Year 6 sing for Christmas!
We are incredibly proud of our Year 6 pupils, who sang beautifully on Monday night in their Christmas Concert and gave a memorable performance of “The Gift” at Holy Trinity Church. LYKOS CHOIR SINGS MERRY CHRISTMAS AT THE MANDERS' CENTRE!
On Friday afternoon, several children from the Year 4 Christmas choir represented our school, along with children from other schools in our Lykos community, and treated shoppers to a medley of Christmas carols in Wolverhampton Manders' Centre.
