Our Year 6 Maths detectives!

To celebrate Maths Week and Number Day, our Year 6 pupils took part in an exciting maths workshop run by AS Creatives, titled CSI: Bake Off. The workshop placed problem solving at the heart of learning, giving pupils the chance to apply their maths skills in a fun, engaging and meaningful way.

Throughout the session, pupils tackled a range of Bake Off–themed challenges that required careful thinking, logical reasoning and perseverance. Each task encouraged pupils to explore different strategies, test ideas and explain their thinking clearly.

Working collaboratively, pupils shared methods, discussed solutions and learned from one another. When challenges became more complex, pupils were encouraged to stay resilient and adapt their approaches — developing confidence and a positive attitude towards problem solving.

The workshop created a real buzz and was a fantastic way to highlight the importance of maths while celebrating Maths Week and Number Day. It was wonderful to see such high levels of enthusiasm, focus and teamwork throughout the day.

A big thank you to AS Creatives for delivering such an inspiring workshop. Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed the experience and left feeling proud, motivated and ready to take on new mathematical challenges.
