Year 4 Invade Tamworth Castle!

Year 4 children had a fabulous day at Tamworth Castle this week! As part of their Invaders and Settlers history topic, and to further their learning, they visited the site to find out how castles protected settlements against invasions in the past!

As well as exploring the castle, children were also invited to take part in workshops that help us understand how people in the past lived. They learned about Anglo-Saxon and Viking warriors and had great fun taking part in a mini battle themselves!

They also became mini archaeologists who investigated artefacts that help us build a picture of the past.
